KIDS ARE SMILING IN SAN ANTONIO

Rotarians from both the Fair Oaks and Nevada City Clubs descended on Los Barriles the end of March to help finish what they started a year ago in San Antonio, renovating both the boys' and girls' albergues. Parents and staff of the albergues came to help too, and new friendships bloomed sharing scrapers and paint brushes.

An unexpected surprise was the blankets the Rotarians brought for the children, each hand crafted with colorful crocheted borders. When asked when they started making all the blankets, the answer was unanimous; “When we left here last year.”

Muchas gracias to our visitors, for their hearts, their hands, and their help. Regardless of borders or languages, we are indeed all one family.

 

Los rotarios de los clubes de Faire Oaks y Nevada City descendieron a Los Barriles a fines de marzo para ayudar a terminar lo que comenzaron hace un año en San Antonio, renovando tanto los albergues para niños como para niñas. Los padres y el personal de los albergues vinieron a ayudar también, y nuevas amistades florecieron compartiendo rascadores y pinceles.

Una sorpresa inesperada fueron las mantas que traían los rotarios para los niños, cada mano hecha a mano con coloridos bordes de ganchillo. Cuando se les preguntó cuándo comenzaron a hacer todas las mantas, la respuesta fue unánime; "Cuando nos fuimos de aquí el año pasado."

Muchas gracias a nuestros visitantes, por sus corazones, sus manos, y su ayuda. Independientemente de las fronteras o lenguas, en realidad somos una sola familia.
